UPDATE: I've added three more versions, each with its own unique twist. Two of these new designs feature different holes - Hole A and Hole B - which are specifically designed for printing two separate pieces (with no supports required) that can be glued back to back using a 15% infill setting. The third version is thanks to user Romulan, who inspired me to try my hand at creating a full crystal model. And it works beautifully! To get the best results with this design, I recommend printing it standing upright on its tip with supports enabled and forced for the first 30 layers to ensure stability. Please note that your slicer should not pack the crystal in supports, as seen in the picture below which shows just how little support was needed. After watching and loving Disney's Frozen II, I decided to give those mesmerizing ice crystals a try, replicating them from memory since they are geometrically simple. I opted for a relief design to add visual interest. The idea is straightforward: print two crystals, then glue them back to back to form a complete crystal shape. In the coming days, expect updates on ways to display these beautiful prints and another cryptic idea that's been cooking in my mind. Currently, I'm facing some warping issues with certain prints (about 50% of cases). To address this, I've tried using a brim and turning off the fan after the first layer without success. Next steps might involve increasing the number of bottom layers or experimenting with different infill settings, including concentric patterns for top and bottom layers. It's also essential to note that the models in the .stl-files need to be rotated so they lay flat on your print bed - this should be self-explanatory but I've mentioned it just in case.
