Frostruder MK2
thingiverse
The Frostruder MK2 introduces a novel approach to frosting extrusion, replacing the motorized plunger method of its predecessors with air power. This innovation results in a Frostruder that boasts excellent features such as an almost instantaneous start/stop capability, a simplified design, high pressure capacity and a steampunk aesthetic. The device operates by connecting a syringe to a pressure source, typically an air compressor, and utilizing two solenoid valves - 'Pressure' and 'Relief' - to control extrusion pressure. When the Pressure valve is open, the syringe connects to the main pressure source, forcing out paste materials within it. To stop extrusion, the Pressure valve is closed and the Relief valve opened, releasing pressure almost instantly due to the residual pressure in the syringe. The Frostruder can handle a wide variety of paste-like materials, including frosting, creamy peanut butter, jelly/jam, Nutella, clay, silicone, and epoxy.
