The challenge for this design was to craft a sword that assembles seamlessly, free from adhesive bonds. I aimed to merge solid body modeling from Solidworks with organic modeling in Zbrush to create a cohesive whole. The joints are designed to fit together effortlessly, holding the model together without any need for glue or adhesives. After modeling the blade and hilt joints, Elliot Viles took on the task of sculpting the skulls in Zbrush. Once he completed his work, I imported the files into mesh mixer to blend his organic creations with my engineered parts, resulting in a perfect marriage of two distinct disciplines. With the model complete, it was printed and assembled by Catherine Wood, a talented member of MyMiniFactoy.com's post processing team, who brought it together beautifully. Frostmourne, the runeblade, was forged as a key component of Ner'zhul's plan, thrust from the Frozen Throne with the intention that Arthas Menethil would discover it on the continent of Northrend. Wielded by Arthas, the new Lich King, until its destruction following his defeat in Icecrown Citadel. If you appreciate this sword, be sure to check out the even larger Rebellion Sword from Devil May Cry.
