Frontdoor Flashforge Dreamer
thingiverse
I crafted this front door specifically for the vintage Flashforge Dreamer, incorporating smoked glass to match its retro aesthetic. However, I've always been puzzled by manufacturers' decision to use smoked glass on these printers back in the day; nowadays, they opt for clear glass instead. Clear glass is made from PMMA, measuring 3mm in thickness. It responds remarkably well to lasercutting, allowing for precise cuts and intricate designs. To create this front door, I recommend lasercutting the outer contour along with holes of D7.1mm diameter for magnet holders and holes of D3.5mm diameter for hinges. Using a lasercutter, you can engrave the Flashforge logo onto the door's surface. To complete the assembly, 3D print the magnet holders and the top and bottom hinges. The magnet holders should be pressed into their respective D7.1mm holes, while M3 press fits are recommended for the hinges. The magnets themselves measure D4x4mm in size.
