Front Panel powered Printer
thingiverse
This 5.25" front panel enables powering your RepRap through your PC's PSU, based on Thermaltake's full tower but requiring some adjustments for a snug fit. The messy code features a snapfit Molex holder that works well. It has slots to accommodate a 4-pin ATX Molex connector, used for powering peripherals. Note that RAMPS 1.4 can handle 5A @ 12V without HPB and 11A @ 12V with HPB; ensure your PSU provides enough wattage to support both devices, and use separate Molex pins for heatbed power due to high temperatures. Be cautious of potential short circuit risks between printer electronics and your PC's PSU, as the PSU may shut down but could still impact your computer. After printing and clearing the panel, cut any necessary parts and place the Molex connectors within the designated slots for easy plug-and-play functionality.
