Front guard / visor for Makita Router / Trimmer
thingiverse
Not entirely sure about the Makita model number, but this design was crafted to fit a Makita 1/4 inch router - commonly referred to as a Router Trimmer, a compact router. You will also require M3 countersunk screws, or you could modify the file in Fusion to eliminate the countersink, either way the screw holes on the router mount are precisely 70mm apart to the centers. The visor leaves a small gap but effectively captures most sawdust debris. THIS IS NOT A SAFETY DEVICE and may not protect against snapped router bits flying out of the router as there is still a small opening present. However, I position the vacuum over this hole and keep my hand on the other side to give me a sense of security. The print time was 41 minutes at 0.3 layer height and speeds adjusted up on the Prusa i3 MK3S. Printed in PETG, as it is slightly more heat resistant, although the part should not get hot during normal use.
