Front fork drop out spacer 9mm axle
thingiverse
This is a spacer that fits between the drop-outs on your front forks when you've removed the wheel. It's especially useful when transporting your bike, particularly if you're shipping it in a bike box on an airplane - it keeps the forks from bending. I was packing my bike recently and couldn't find one, so I decided to make this spacer myself. To get the dimensions right, I measured my drop-out/axle on my commuter bike with digital calipers and found that it measures 8.8mm at its widest point. This spacer fits snugly in place when installed, as you can see from the photos. It's worth noting that the spacer is too small for a 10mm drop-out/axle. In the photos, I've rotated the forks to face backwards so they fit better in the bike box. I designed this spacer using Autodesk Fusion360.
