Front & Back Y-Axis Endplate using V-Slot 2020 for Makerfarm 10" i3v
thingiverse
I made some modifications to my Makerfarm 10" i3v and they should work with the 8" and 12" versions too. Before you upgrade, consider doing the front plate upgrade first to see how it works for you. Print two copies of **Y_Front_EndPlate_LtRt.stl**, even if you plan to print one with both left and right connectors attached, in case it doesn't fit well. This way, if you have it already apart, you can put these on and they'll work. I also changed the wooden V-Slot Frame clips with **Y_Frame_Clip.stl** and **Y_Frame_Clip_Mirror.stl**. After installing the front and back plates, I noticed that the bottom of the belt was going to rub against the wood frame, so I added **Belt_Bearing.stl**, using a smooth idler pulley I already had. The **Y_Front_EndPlate_10Solid.stl**, **Y_Front_EndPlate_8Solid.stl**, or **Y_Front_EndPlate_12Solid.stl** should fit on your print bed at 45 degrees for printing. I'm not sure about the dimensions for the 8" and 12", but someone made my previous back plate for the 8" and it fit well, and the 12" measurements were pulled from the 12" dxf file for the i3v that I found on the internet. To purchase parts for the front plate: 1. 2 - 2020 V-slot 250mm length for 10" Estimated 196mm length for 8" i3v and 286.1mm length for 12" i3v (286mm should be good enough) 2. 4 - M5x20mm screws to connect Y-axis 2020 V-Slot to Front End Plate 3. 4 - M5x10mm screws to connect Endplates to top of Front V-Slot 2 - M5x10mm screws to connect Front Belt Slider Base to top of V-Slot 2 - M5x8mm screws to connect Wood Connects (Make sure you thread the 2020 V-Slot) The M5x8mm should be low profile heads or button heads since clearance is tight for these. 4. 1 - M5X12mm screw to mount back center cap (Optional) STL files to print for front plate: 2 - Y_Front_EndPlate_LtRt.stl Print these if solid Endplate does not work for you or one of the 3 next files: 1 - **Y_Front_EndPlate_10Solid.stl** (This fits the i3v 10") 1 - **Y_Front_EndPlate_8Solid.stl** (This is my best guess for fitting the i3v 8") 1 - **Y_Front_EndPlate_12Solid.stl** (This is my best guess for fitting the i3v 12") 1 - **Wood_Connect_Elec_Side.stl** (Connects on side where Electronics is) 1 - **Wood_Connect_PS_Side.stl** (Connects on side where Power Supply is Mounted) I would test fit an M5x8mm screw in this to make sure it fits as this is the tightest clearance. 1 - **Y_Motor_Mount.stl** 1 - **PegHoleFill_Rev4.stl** (Insert 2 of these in wood rectangular holes to mount M3 screws) It's a lot more sturdy after installing these and also quieter. If I left something out, just let me know.
