I decided to add an extra 120mm fan to the front of my Razer Core X for improved airflow and in preparation for watercooling with a 140mm radiator block. To accomplish this, I followed the instructions found at eGPU.io on how to mod the Razer Core X for an additional front-mounted rad fan. The bracket that holds the new fan is secured by a single neodymium magnet at the top, but you can also use magnets both at the top and sides if needed. The parts required for this project are split into two sections in order to accommodate larger printers that can print up to 200mm. One of the benefits of this design is that the parts can be printed with different colors to create a dual tone effect. When selecting fans to work with the enclosure, you'll want to choose those that can operate in conjunction with the original fan. Some good options include: * Noctua A12x25 FLX 120mm fan * BeQuiet Silent Wings High Power 120mm fan * Lian Li 1700rpm fan (which came with my O11 Air Case) As for planned improvements, I'm considering a few changes to the design. First, I'd like to make it possible to snap both parts together securely without relying on magnets alone. Second, I've already implemented a feature that allows for mounting holes to be drilled in smaller magnets. Finally, I plan to create a cutout for watercooling pipes to pass through. Update: As of 2019-03-22, I've upgraded the design by adding more magnets! For the bottom panel with the "RAZER CORE X" logo, you can use three 6mm x 2mm magnets or simply opt for foam double-sided tape. The top panel requires four 6mm x 2mm magnets and one 10mm x 2mm magnet to secure it firmly in place. The result is a sturdy enclosure that holds the fan securely, even when both Noctua A12x25 fans are set to exhaust out. In fact, I've noticed a significant drop in temperature – about 7C less on my Zotac 1080Ti Amp Core Extreme compared to using just one fan.
