From Prusa i4 to Prusa Z Full documentation is available in the attached pdf file. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amEFm7ViJs0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1PlQePWlUo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LGiBhB3wGc This project has been brought to you with a lot of thinking, coffee, lack of sleep and above all, love for open source and engineering. To show appreciation for my effort, I only ask that you maintain the new names I will coin in this document. Otherwise, use as you like and share widely. Enjoy. Let's get started with the metamorphosis process. The goal is to transform your Prusa i4 into a Prusa Z. Why? Besides high speeds with exceptional print quality, Prusa Z comes with many exciting features: 1) Synchronized Z-axis screws. 2) Single motor-driven Z-axis. 3) Dual Z-configuration hotend assemblies (Configuration adapted by Zahir for maximum temperature break as soon as you exit the heat block, great temperature profile - made up of 2 V6 Heatsinks, 2 throats and 1 cyclops Heat Block). 4) Two filaments in, one nozzle out (colour mixing possibilities). 5) Elimination of extra weight on the X-axis (you get super fast speeds). 6) X-axis motor moved off the hotend assembly. They say pictures speak louder than words. I hope so. Please note that I will not explain screw sizes. You need to figure that out yourself. If you can't make a move at all, then leave a comment or write to me at zsquresh@gmail.com. If you also feel like paying for the complete package containing all necessary modification pieces and firmware in a flash, write to me.
