Print in petG, ASA, or Ploycarb preferred. PLA is too brittle for the cranks.you can get the alligator clips on AmazonUse small wood screws to attach the retainer clipsAssemble the cranks into the tophat, put a washer on the crank, and use a drop of superglue. Be careful not to glue the crank to the hat; place the center in the handle it will be flush on both sides. Screw the retainer clips into the center on the bottom and rotate the clips so that the raised collar is against the center and the tab extends over the handle. This will keep the centerpiece in place and allow it to spin.Place the top hat with the cranks in the corresponding holes in the center and glue washers on the bottom side, careful to only get glue on the washer and crank. Take an alligator clip and slide it onto the crank. Line up the thumb tabs on all the cranks so that they face the same direction.I then melted the end of the crank to attach the alligator clip to the crank. There are two operating modes.Crank the top in a big circle, and the alligator clips will spin, twisting each thread attached. When you have enough twisted, you can spin the top had -do not crank, just spin in one spot. This will cause the center to rotate, causing the threads to rotate around each other, finishing your fringe.Depending on the layer height, you may have to sand the cranks or other parts to get a smooth operation.the clamp needs a screw to keep the pieces together it is optional to print the clampit is recommended you use supports on the screw for the clamp.
