Athens (Greece) was acquired in Venice in 1872. A marble artifact from the 5th century BC showcases men standing and sitting on traveling packs alongside a scene of women being ravaged. The scenes depicted on this frieze are interpreted as illustrations from the Pelasgian legend, alluding to Greek prehistoric times. Two other fragments from the same group can be accessed online here and here. This artifact is part of "Scan The World," a non-profit initiative by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks worldwide for public access. The community-driven project Scan The World is an open source effort; if you have interesting items around you and would like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can help.
