myminifactory
Athens (Greece), acquired by Venice in 1872 Marble, circa 425 - 400 BC Three fragments of the frieze depict standing and sitting men on traveling packs, along with a scene of women being ravished. The scenes of the frieze, also belonging to parts in Vienna and Athens, are interpreted as illustrations from the Pelasgian legend, thereby alluding to Greek prehistoric periods. Two other fragments from the same group can be downloaded at this link and that link.
