Friction Pin Test

Friction Pin Test

myminifactory

This is a preliminary printout prior to commencing work on another project. Six components comprise this initial test: one top plate, one base plate, two pin bases, and two pin caps. The distance between the cylinders measures 0.1 mm, while the space between adjacent faces is 0.2 mm. In my print sample, the pin bases are flush with the underside of the base plate, and the tops of the pin caps sit about 1 to 2 mm above the top surface of the upper plate. A considerable amount of force was required to pry the plates apart once fully assembled; however, it was only during the initial disassembly that any difficulty arose. After reassembling the components for approximately half an hour while watching Futurama, the two faces remained securely in place. I am posting this information because I intend to charge a modest fee for the new design I have created, and I wish to provide users with the opportunity to conduct a test print at no cost prior to purchasing. This allows individuals to verify their printers' capabilities before investing in a potentially incompatible design. The revised assembly requires 60 pins (120 pieces), which suggests that encountering printer limitations after purchase would be undesirable.
