Fresnel-Type Reflector, Laser Cut
thingiverse
Create a flat pattern of conical rings, resembling a parabolic reflector, with approximately 11" focal length and diameter. Update: an Octave script generates patterns for various geometries. To construct it, use flexible, shiny materials like thin mirrored acrylic or metalized plastic film. Form the arcs into shallow cones by taping ends together. If your material is too flexible, reinforce with cereal box pieces. Attach rings to a backing board without distortion for optimal results; focus width should be about 3/4", ideal for objects on sticks.
