Unfortunately, the original part is stuck in place and requires either breaking or replacing its mechanism entirely, which incurs significant expense and lacks environmental sustainability. Both the lid and overall design could benefit from aesthetic and ergonomic enhancements that I aim to address in future improvements. To install this part successfully, you will need access to the original button, screws, and spring, so exercise caution when handling the broken plastic component.
