French frigate Aréthuse (1792)
thingiverse
The French Frigate Aréthuse, launched in 1792, was captured and modified by the British, who renamed it HMS Undaunted in 1795. The original model I created a few years ago is now outdated. To make it more accessible for wargaming enthusiasts, I've simplified this new version significantly to accommodate smaller scales. I've added three different versions: 1:600, 1:700, and 1:1200. The pictures of the red print are at 1:700 scale, while the painted and rigged model was printed around 1:900 scale several years ago, resulting in simplified deck features. This model only includes the hull, as shown in the pictures of the red print out. There are holes for three masts and the bowsprint; a thick paperclip should suffice. Unfortunately, you'll need to create your own masts, sails, and rigging at this time. This model is suitable for various games, including Black Seas, Fighting Sail, Fire as She Bears, Kiss Me Hardy, and more. A new update was uploaded on January 25th, 2020: a revised 1:700 version with deck planking, exaggerated hull lines for easier printing, additional deck detailing, and stern rails. You can find it at the link below. The latest version is now freely available at 1:700 scale, complete with fully printable 3D sails, at the following URL: https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/french-frigate-arethuse-40-gun-1792-hms-undaunted-38-gun-5th-rate-1795/
