French Cleat Bin

French Cleat Bin

These are Bins for my French Cleat system. Mine is 3/4 inch plywood, but I also added a 1/2inch cleat and really 1/2 works just fine on both and uses less material. My cleats are 3inch wide so I do not need a bottom block for the bin, but it would be easy enough to glue a piece of plywood to them if you did. To assemble is pretty simple. just use lots of super glue and insert the diamonds and clamp them for a bit. The diamonds should not be a super tight fit so even less accurate printers shouldn't need any sanding. Really they are just a key for glue up. The bins and cleats can easily be printed without supports. The cleats I print diamonds up, this puts the layer lines in the weakest orientation for the diamond keys, but again these were not designed for strength just for assisting with the glue up. Super glueing the whole cleat on should give plenty of strength for holding anything you can put in the bins.
