French Butter tub

You like having room temperature butter available at all times? So do I! However, no one likes rancid or off-flavored butter. The French have a solution in an air-tight sealed butter tub that keeps your room temp butter fresh. Looking online for this type of tub, they ranged in price from $20 to $40 and up, so I decided to create my own 3D printable version. My design costs about 100 grams of filament. Instructions: Material: HIPS or other food-safe certified filaments are a must. Don't bother with a raft; no supports needed here either! Set infill to 20 to 30%. If you're printing the label, use a different color from the tub; then glue it on using model cement or ABS pipe cement. The spreader material can be any food-safe plastic, so use HIPS for instance. Don't bother with a raft or supports – set this to High quality! For some smooth finishing, lightly sand the top of the tapered end. Place about 1/2 inch (13mm) of water in the outer cup and make sure it provides an air-tight seal. Butter now sits safe from floating airborne microbes! Use either distilled water or boiled-cooled water.
