Fremen Crysknife (DUNE, 1984)

Hey, droogies! If you're like me, you've wanted your own crysknife since 1984. There are other version online, but I kinda wanted one with the more elongated hole pattern like I drew in high school. And yeah... it's a beautiful design and I just wanted to make one as well. This is really just the first pass on my version, but at least it's within the basic form factor of what reference I've found online. The butt is separate so the materials can be painted separately, and the height in some areas are intentionally taller than necessary for painting and sanding. Because reference images show some variation, future versions will include a different butt, different hole patterns, a more "circular" hole shape, and maybe a metal collar between the handle and blade (if I can ever find good reference of the original props). Then, maybe a sheath as in the scene with the Shadout Mapes. But for now, note that the holes near the blade could use some attention... I wasn't happy how they were turning out in Zbrush, and felt that for now those would be easier to address with a Dremmel. Besides, manually detailing the shape here and there can only add to the natural look it needs. Note: I have yet to print my own as I'm super busy right now, but I made sure the parts load cleanly in Cura. I ask for no payment but would love to see pics if you make one. So, print yours now.
