My custom Moray spinner replacement design and print project started after my original one cracked due to frequent crashes, and I couldn't find a suitable replacement. To address this issue, I decided to create and 3D print a new one. I enhanced the backplane of the spinner by adding extra blades for improved cooling. The end result is shown here. Initially, I had concerns about balance and structural integrity but after testing it at maximum speed without a propeller, I was relieved to find no signs of vibration or distortion caused by centrifugal force. Two servo retaining screws hold the dome securely to the backplane. If you decide to print this design, please exercise caution as high-speed spinning poses inherent risks, and I disclaim any responsibility for injuries or damage resulting from its use or creation. For reference, a Moray is an RC airplane model, and more information can be found at rcairplanereviews.com. The small end of the dome was facing down during printing, which worked perfectly. Supports were not needed for the cone but were necessary for the backplane. The combined STL file is intended for viewing in ThingView only; it's not designed for actual printing.
