Upgraded main-gear mounts revolutionize the 90mm Freewing F/A-18E Super Hornet (Vector Thrust version), transforming a weakness into a robust foundation. The original mounts were woefully inadequate, frequently requiring removal due to damage from grass landings, which in turn inflicted considerable stress on the fuselage. To address this issue, I designed and created these sturdy mounts, expertly repairing the fuselage in the process. Printed with supports and utilizing 90% infill, they provide a substantial upgrade over the flimsy original wooden mount. However, users will need to modify their fuselage to accommodate the new mounts, which are significantly more robust. To ensure a seamless integration, I employed Hot-Glue to secure the mounts in place, followed by the strategic application of flexible filler to eliminate any gaps or imperfections. Once sanded and painted, these upgraded main-gear mounts will boast a sleek appearance, vastly improving the overall aesthetic of the aircraft. A companion nose gear mount is also available for users seeking to upgrade their entire landing gear system.
