Freewing A-6 Ordnance Bombs Rack
thingiverse
I have made some significant changes to my design, making it fully compatible with standard freewing mounting hardware. This new version is more modular and easier to swap between different Freewing models if desired. I've also uploaded full-size bomb STLs that can be printed in a single piece on larger printers. For those who still want to print them as separate parts, the original models are available with the prefix "(old)" in front of their file names. This design was created specifically for my own use, and while it may not be perfect or scale-accurate, it does print well on my small Makerbot Mini 3D printer. The mounting method is similar to what I used on my Freewing F-16 model. However, the pylons themselves are quite short due to the limitations of my printer, which can only handle objects up to about 5 inches tall. Feel free to modify the pylons if you want them longer, but keep in mind that this will add weight and drag. The bombs come in two pieces because my printer couldn't print them as a single piece. Printing the single-piece Mk82 is recommended, but gluing the fins to the body of the bomb isn't difficult either. All parts can be printed with minimal infill (5%), except for the wing-mounted pylons, which require 25% infill for stability and durability from repeated use.
