Here is the spun text: DIY LED holder designed for head tracking, utilizing 5mm LEDs, takes center stage as an uncomplicated project. The initial iteration, captured in a photo, was engineered with the option to secure LEDs onto Dupont connectors, making replacement effortless. However, this proved troublesome to wire and mount accurately, prompting a switch to a more conventional "solder and glue" approach for the final design. The primary shell and end cap can be securely fastened either by applying adhesive or joining them through "friction welding," which involves driving a piece of filament into the center through hole with a power drill. The end cap features a slot for attaching a 3-pin Dupont connector, but this connector actually utilizes only two pins out of three to prevent accidental reverse polarity powering of the LEDs circuit when the connectors are inserted incorrectly. The mount for the clip is based on the standard GoPro style mount, attached to the cap/headset clip with a dovetail slide. This setup allows for rapid switching between differently sized clips, and tolerances for this joint were carefully selected for a well-tuned MK3S printer. Different printers might necessitate increased clearance. STEP/Fusion 360 files are included, enabling users to customize this project at will.
