This is a modified version of Jewcookie's freetrack IRclip made for use with the Sennheiser HD555, though it should fit many headphones due to its adjustable band. The lightest option I've used is a single CR123A 1200ma lithium battery in order to minimize the total weight. In comparison, two AA NiHMs alone weigh 57g, but my IRclip tips the scales at only 37g when fully assembled. I built this IRclip around readily available RadioShack parts, which can be linked below. A RadioShack switch holds the device in place using friction to keep it steady. The battery holder also relies on friction to stay secure. To finalize the setup, a couple of small PLA "rivets" are included. They have to be melted into place once the battery holder has been attached. With these three pieces (A-C) designed for smooth snap-together construction, and with just two of piece D in sight - that holds the device together permanently without adhesive unless needed, a bit more of them will always do the trick! The IRclip relies on parts from RadioShack which can be located below: 275-007 (http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3020764) Battery Holder: Catalog #: 270-080 http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=22874796 To my last note added here I would like to inform that using some diffusers will always make your device appear differently when an IR LED light hits the top surface!
