Freestyle Libre covers

Reworked the original design to cover more of the top so it would hold and protect the sensor better. The inside of the cover was also enlarged slightly so it does not grab the sensor when being removed. A small hole was left in the center to allow it to breath since the Abbott literature says that is needed. The template was also redone. The inside hole was enlarged slightly and it was reshaped to slow the fraying of the patches. I also needed a version that would work with a Tegaderm 1624W when swimming or boating.. A plus is the smaller cover also works well with a Simpatch. If you do not want to cut your own patches for the larger cover these work well if you do not mind the color. They do cover the hole but the perfecore.com website says they are breathable. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S9CCCRN/ For cutting your own with the template I found Leukotape K Therapeutic Kinesiology Tape 3" x 5.4 Yard works well. You will get over 60 covers out of a roll. They hold up well. I have gotten the full 14 days out of both the tape and Simpatchs. I do apply some Skin Tac to the skin before the Sensor is applied with it extended enough for the patch. Afterwards clean up the skin with alcohol. For the smaller cover a SIMPATCH Adhesive Patch fits nicely and for water exposure a Tegaderm 1624W works well. Do not cut the hole out on the Tegaderm since you want to keep water out. The Simpatch will not fit onto the cover so you will need to shape it over it. A plus is you can remove the tape, place the cover on the patch then flip it over and shape the patch over the cover. I was able to easily place this over the sensor and smooth it down all by myself on the back of the arm. Try doing that with a Simpatch minus the cover. And removal is easy, peel off the patch and the cover also comes off leaving the sensor behind. Yardwork is why I started looking at covers. The sensor started coming loose and the first Libre patches purchased from Amazon did not hold well on my skin and held real well on the sensor. So the sensor was almost pulled off. It required my wife to help remove the tape. The original of this was the nicest looking cover but I wanted more of the sensor covered. And decided why not make one that can protect it when out on the water.
