I created a basic character set built from the "FreeSans" font developed by the FreeFont project, available at http://www.gnu.org/software/freefont. However, I encountered difficulties when using the Wings3D "Text" function, which only produces free-standing text in mid-air. To overcome this issue, I created each character as a separate block, similar to typesetting blocks used for printing presses. The character set includes both extruded and intruded versions, provided as Wings3D and STL files. Following an update on 4/1/2014, I removed errors in edge orthogonality caused by rounding off in one of the tools used during creation.
