Freeman House Tile
thingiverse
Initially created by Frank Lloyd Wright for the Freeman house, constructed in California in 1923, this pattern was applied onto concrete blocks. Concrete blocks provided cost-effectiveness and flexibility but were often regarded as unattractive and low-end building materials. Wright envisioned using these boldly patterned blocks in upscale residences to enhance their character, aiming for widespread adoption of his block system. However, only four "textile block" houses were eventually built. Regarding the provided 3D printable model, it's scaled at 145x145x11mm by default but can be resized as desired. Adjusting the z-axis independently allows for varying relief levels on the tile. A brim may be necessary to prevent corner curling during printing.
