Freedom: The Underground Railroad Slave Catcher Pawns

Early editions of Academy Games "Freedom: The Underground Railroad" featured wooden pawns shaped like triangle, square, circle, oval, and pentagon. Later and current versions replaced these pawns with cardboard tokens. I wanted to create something more distinctive than the standard extruded shape for use in the game, so I designed custom pawns. Each base has a Roman column design with the shape atop it. The shapes are colored differently: oval is purple, pentagon is blue, triangle is yellow, square is brown, and circle is orange. These colors match the dice rolled during gameplay to control movement of the pawns. Print Settings: Printer: Micro3D Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Medium Infill: Hollow, Thick Walls Notes: White PLA from BAMTACK was used at 210 degrees C. Post-Printing: Painting I left the layered look intact and didn't smooth it out. I primed mine with artist gesso before painting. Each column was painted gunmetal gray, then metallic copper was drybrushed on top. The bases are pure black. Each shape was painted its corresponding color, finished off with a coat of Mod Podge gloss.
