Freedom 7 Coin Bank

Freedom 7 Coin Bank

thingiverse

This coin bank is a replica of the Freedom 7 Mercury Capsule, commemorating the first human spaceflight by the USA, gifted 51 years ago. Although it can still be found on auction and antique sites, production has likely ceased. The close recreation has been regenerated from scratch and features scans of a Freedom 7 pamphlet published by McDonnell Aircraft Corporation, who designed and built the Mercury space capsule. To print, use high resolution with specific orientations for heat shield and upper capsule to maximize text and image quality without support. After printing, glue heat shield halves together, clean coin slot, and align heat shield as per original. The accompanying brochure is formatted for 8.5 x 11 paper, folded for a complete reproduction.
