FreeABL - the ultra cheap (free) ABL for Ender 3
thingiverse
FreeABL is my concept for effortlessly achieving auto bed leveling on an Ender 3 without the need to purchase any additional components, utilizing only the parts that come standard with the printer. Most prevalent ABL devices utilize a servo to move a microswitch into position for performing bed leveling, whereas my design enables you to manually clip the switch into place to execute homing and mesh bed leveling. Once this is done, simply unplug and remove it while the print is in progress. This approach reuses parts you already have and is significantly less complex compared to a BLTouch or similar device, yet still delivers accurate mesh values that are perfectly suitable for bed leveling. UPDATE: To gain a better understanding of how this works, watch the following video by user @carlosalexanderdev's, where he demonstrates it (using @xchgre's design): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUSaR9r2HHE
