Fred's Portable Hook
thingiverse
A fastener that securely attaches to a door or other vertical support.\n\n \n \n Design Requirements\nI aimed to create a coat hook that's portable, relying on gravity and tension for stability.\nVersion 1 had arms that were too far apart, causing it to slide down the door edge when unloaded, but the addition of weight helped it stay in place.\nVersion 2 effectively resolved the stability issue but compromised design elegance, as it still slid slightly when empty.\nVersion 3 introduced curves and incorporated rubber bands for grip, with Pete's suggestion of tool dip providing an excellent solution - no more slippage without weight.\nVersion 4 combines aesthetics and function, delivering substantial tension when loaded.
