I personally designed the drivetrain, elevator and wrist assemblies in Solidworks. Drivetrain: Based on the standard 1325 six-wheel tank-drive with sheet metal construction with some key changes that impact the performance for this year's game. The foremost of which are the 6” wheels which allow enough ground clearance such that the robot can traverse the field without damage to the drivetrain. This year’s drive train uses a two-speed gearbox, the high gear is for travelling across the field at 14 ft/s and the low gear (6ft/s) is for defence because of the stability it provides.Elevator:The elevator is purpose-built for lifting game-specific pieces 7 feet vertically. This year’s elevator design is centred around a two-stage cascading elevator architecture with custom bearing blocks. This elevator has a total travel of 64”, 165-pound stall load and a travel time under load of .91 seconds.
