FRC Prototype Gear Box
grabcad
This is a gearbox designed for future robots. It can drive a 150Ib robot with 4in wheels 13.19 ft/s. This was designed by and for FRC team 122 NASA Knights but anyone is free to use it. I used a calculator in excel to find the ratio I wanted. I then used vex gears and bearings to construct it. Finally, I pocketed the gearbox plates and added an encoder mount. I used various other files to construct the full assembly. I personally designed the plates, the encoder mount, overall layout, and the gear layout. This is also the first model I have uploaded so any feedback is appreciated.
