FRC Pneumatics Test Bench

FRC Pneumatics Test Bench

This is a test bench I designed for use when prototyping pneumatic systems, especially for FRC. It can accept up to three separate pneumatic cylinders, and each is actuated with its own switch. The power source is a 12V REV FTC battery for portability, but it could easily be modified to run on an FRC battery instead. The main power switch (which is a standard FTC power switch) connects the battery to the system, including the built-in voltmeter. There is a switch to manually turn on the compressor (I did not include a pressure switch). The compressor is fitted with a pressure relief valve and an air release valve, and runs into an air storage tank. There is a regulator to adjust working pressure, and two gauges to show storage and working pressure. There is one 3-port manifold with single solenoids, each connected to a switch that feeds power from the battery. I used a small power distribution board, but lever nuts or equivalent could be substituted. The .step file shows the component assembly (and can be modified before making your own), and there is one picture of the bench from underneath that shows the wiring and plumbing. Use the .dxf file for laser cutting 3mm wood for the structure. There are three 3D-printable parts: an XT30 enclosure to hold the female end of the FTC power switch; a cover for the built-in voltmeter; and a mounting plate that fits to the underside of the manifold to avoid the need for nuts. (I also printed a mounting plate for the power distribution board I had, which is shown in the .step file.) Hardware used includes pneumatic fittings and tube; various screws to mount the XT30 and voltmeter mounts, the manifold, the power distribution board, the compressor, and the air storage tank clips; and wire, spade terminals, and ferrules.Original model:https://cad.onshape.com/documents/cccda437b29e897426131492/w/d4f60f3310c71c476dc2f5dc/e/613c38f2895821fc9c0e024e
