FRC Battery Charging Station
thingiverse
Battery Charging Unit for FIRST Robotics Competition. It holds and charges four batteries in one compact, easy-to-carry unit. Parts were machined from three-quarter-inch plywood on a ShopBot Buddy CNC router table. The front, back, sides, and center should fit together with slots, while bottom pieces require screws. Wood glue is recommended on every part. Images show the Noco Genius G4 chargers in use but the design also accommodates the 3-bank DualPro chargers available from AndyMark. Run all cabling through the ovals in the center for a clean setup. The part was designed in VCarve and vectors were adjusted in Illustrator. Update: Many people have asked about the Noco Genius G4 chargers so here are some tips. You'll need to cut apart the cables that come with the unit and attach your own Anderson plugs. These chargers are great for long-term battery storage as they keep batteries topped off with a trickle charge. However, they charge FRC batteries very slowly. Each bank maxes out at 1.1A so they won't keep up with most competitions unless you have several units and lots of batteries.
