### What's this? This is a (low effort) remix from the work of franpoli: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4118464 and nimrodxv230: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4194573 to combine both into one solid part. All I did was add a solid "fill block" that works seamless in my slicer. ### Why would you choose this instead of printing two parts? **Pro:** Only one large part to print (no adhesion issues), simpler to assemble (less screws, BLTouch automatically in correct height), probably sturdier **Con:** No option to change mount (for different probe), entire part has to be replaced (when it breaks) I have to admit my (probably overly cautious) print in ASA suffered quite a bit because I didn't have a proper enclosure, but despite some issues with the high BLTouch part it still works flawlessly. ### Since we're here... Coming from the stock hotend on an E3Pro with an SKR Mini E3 v2, here are some of the tips I found for the next person: - Mounting the plate can get quite a bit fiddly, if you're doing it wrong (like me). In retrospect I would suggest first inserting all the roller wheel nuts in the mount plate, then screwing the Hemera to the mount plate, and then screwing the mount plate to the metal one via the rollers. - I added washers between the plate and the Hemera, but the included screws were still bottoming out, so be careful not to overtighten those. - No need to flip the extruder motor cables. The connector goes in left to right "black-green-blue-red" (on that particular board, when the socket is on the top). This correctly matches what E3D and BTT have in their respective documentation. However, it's advisable to recrimp the cables to a proper JST connector on the board side. I discovered the hard way a half-plugged connector will get you the "wiggle of death". - My new BLTouch offsets are x=-45, y=0, z=-1.000 (yes really, but I guess your z may vary) - If you're using Klipper, there's no E3D docs (that I found?), so I puzzled these config changes for the `[extruder]` block together from various sources and they have so far worked for me: ``` rotation_distance: 7.82 full_steps_per_rotation: 200 microsteps: 16 sensor_type: ATC Semitec 104GT-2 min_temp: 5 max_temp: 300 ``` - For the driver config, E3D has a separate guide: https://e3d-online.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/sections/4403019283089-Hemera-Calibration-Guides- I found confusing values like 1.1 and 0.84 before, but the correct setting according to E3D `run_current: 0.940` on the TMC2209 which is the correct RMS value for the 1.33A peak current of their specs.
