The AT&T Corporate Center embodies both the Chicago architectural spirit and the distinct style of 1990's architecture. Rising high into the sky, it boasts a dazzling array of spires, gables, and points that leave onlookers in awe. Its massing cleverly pays homage to the beloved Chicago Board of Trade, but with a modern twist that leaves Art Deco far behind. The use of color, materials, and intent is unmistakably rooted in late 20th century building trends. One notable feature of this skyscraper are the vertical channels situated at the center of each face. As they ascend, these channels expand, creating an illusion where the extended corners appear narrower and even taller than they actually are. This clever manipulation of forced perspective adds a fascinating element to the building's design. While the exterior may bear only a faint resemblance to the iconic Art Deco monuments that made the Loop great, the interior makes up for it with its elegant lighting fixtures and ornate accents that harken back to Chicago's golden age of architecture.
