FrankenSpider 5.oh
pinshape
I am finally releasing the files for the FrankenSpider 5.0, which I have been flying for a few dozen times and it's working rather well overall. At this point, its flight board spacing is designed specifically for the Tarantula X6 flight board, so any other board will likely need to be modified accordingly. I am also planning to add adjustable flight board mounts and some brushless motor mounts to make the frame completely interchangeable. You will require 8 WLtoys carbon fiber 5.5mm square x 145mm long arms/sticks, which were originally used in the WLtoys v262, also utilized on v666, V222, and many other models. The latest model using these arms is currently the V959. There are two bodies to choose from: the "Simple" body and the "AntiVibe" body. The Simple body has no built-in battery holder apart from the center X star, which you'll need to wrap a velcro strap or similar through it to hold the battery in place. The Anti Vibe body is set up and spaced for the WLToys small and light but highly effective battery and cam holding anti vibe unit. Printing should be done with high shell count (4 rows preferably) and around 50% infill. Higher infill levels add weight, while lower infill seems to make it weak. The exception is the legs, which should be printed in a clear material with about 20-25% infill and 2-3 shell lines. I will be writing and updating installation info on my blog at LittleQuadcopter. Discussions and questions can also be posted here or on Facebook in the Tarantula X6 group.
