This initial design for a Cupcake CNC xy carriage replacement aims to replicate ABP functionality while utilizing the conveyor belt within the y-axis stage. The creator opted for an ABP but didn't want to replace their existing electronics and HBP, leading them to develop this setup using Makerbot parts. The design includes ball bearing movements, a shorter carriage, and parts sourced from a Mendel. It uses an HBP with countersunk boltheads, support beams from old y-stage guide rods, and four leveling screws. However, the creator warns against building it in its current state due to strength issues and is working on a complete redesign.
