Upgrade your Cupcake's print quality and build area with this modification. The new dimensions will be 175mm x 140mm x 115mm (7" x 5.5" x 4.5") using 1.75mm plastic and an MK7ish extruder. Most instructions are in the thing files as a word document, with more detailed ones to follow if there's interest. Note that specific orders of assembly are crucial for proper fit within the Cupcake frame. The parts should fit onto the original Cupcake build area but may need printing assistance. The Z support is vital for a flat build surface and can be challenging to print without warping. The cost of major improvements ranges from $200-$300 and includes: 1) MK7 Extruder assembly (http://store.qu-bd.com/product.php?id_product=11), 4x Pololu 16 step motor drivers (http://www.pololu.com/product/1182), 1/4 inch bars of 1/8 inch thick aluminum for the extruder mount, and assorted other hardware. The original Cupcake parts and hardware are reused to keep costs low, such as Z axis 1/4 inch bars from the Y axis assembly. A strip board assembly is also needed for Pololu motor drivers; a printable one will be provided for easy soldering.
