Frank Slide

This is a decimated point cloud of Frank Slide, Canada's deadliest rock slide. On April 29, 1903, over 110 million tonnes of limestone slid down the site of Turtle Mountain in Alberta's Crowsnest Pass region. The town of Frank was buried under the massive rock mass, claiming up to 110 lives. This dataset was generously donated to the Alberta Digital Heritage Archive by Rick Duchscher, a seasoned engineer with a background in P.L. (Engineering) and P.Tech. (Engineering), currently working at the Centre for Innovation and Research in Unmanned Systems within the Geomatics Engineering Technology program of the School of Construction at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). For more information about the Alberta Digital Heritage Archive, visit https://preserve.ucalgary.ca. A project page dedicated to this dataset is presently under development.
