Francis Russell at The Scottish National Gallery, Scotland
myminifactory
The 5th Duke of Bedford commissioned his own bust from renowned sculptor Joseph Nollekens in 1801. The Kinnaird family acquired this version as a symbol of their Whig allegiance, reflecting the liberal views they shared with Charles James Fox, leader of the Whig party during the late eighteenth century. The Duke's Temple of Liberty at Woburn Abbey embodied his radical politics, which were deeply connected to those of his friend Charles James Fox. This object is part of a groundbreaking project called "Scan The World," launched by MyMiniFactory as a non-profit initiative. Scan The World aims to create a vast digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe for public access at no cost. As an open-source community effort, anyone can contribute by emailing stw@myminifactory.com with their own unique items. This bust was scanned using photogrammetry software and processed with Agisoft PhotoScan technology.
