Fran is a personal stop motion project inspired by 'Bride of Frankenstein'. She lives a very short life, created and dismantled. She consists of 28 parts in total, including her separate faces and different sized hearts. The brain is optional - I used it for the motion to build her up. Normally you can't see it under the hair. The eyes have a simple five-piece rig. It's essential to cure it well after printing so that it moves smoothly. Her face is split from the chin line, typically including the chin to open its mouth wider. However, using only resin with no flexible materials or other parts makes it easier to make the neck joint this way. I wrapped the ball joint part in foil before sticking on the two chin parts around it to make it more rigid and easy to control. The heart comes in three sizes for a beat effect. Note that eye caps may need slight adjustments so that they fit through the holes smoothly, making it easier to stick them to her face with the chin on. I also used milliput to make them more sturdy. For painting her face, I used a pen for stitches and no shading to make it look smooth when changing. After that, she's ready to test for stop motion!
