The original design is from a model on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4645/#files). It involves constructing a ball using flat components and rubber bands. The model was created in Solidworks 2016 and rendered with Simlab Composer 7 Mechanical Edition. Gif animations were made using PhotoScape, while IrfanView was used to edit the renderings.
