Hi everyone, I just uploaded my new designs for a mini quadcopter. Check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiyyGyVObJo&feature=youtu.be And here's another one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKEOpDWLVMs&feature=youtu.be I've modified the frame to work with PLA filament, so I'll update the photos and videos soon. To build these mini quadcopters, you'll need: * Screws M3, 16mm long - get at least a few of those * Bolts M3 - you'll need some of those too * Arms: you can use either aluminum or carbon tubes that are 80 x 12mm in diameter. I personally like to use anodized aluminum tubes with a 12mm diameter, but carbon is even better. * Motors: I'm using multistar 2204 motors at 2300kv, which are 16/19mm in size * Propellers: get some 5/6" carbon propellers - they're perfect for this design * Your ESCs (electronic speed controllers) should be able to handle up to 12A each, and you'll need a 2.4GHz receiver and flight controller too. Check out this link: http://www.gearbest.com/multi-rotor-parts/pp_358284.html * Battery: get a 3S battery that's around 1000-1300mAh - it should give you about 6 minutes of flying time * And finally, get a UBEC (universal brushless esc converter) that can handle up to 5V at 3A. It'll power your camera, vtx, and vcr. Here's where to find one: http://www.gearbest.com/rc-parts/pp_88921.html With carbon propellers measuring 6 inches, this drone is super fast, fluid, and progressive - it's also very quiet, which is a big plus! I didn't even wake up my cat when I was testing it. Thanks for your feedback - I'll take all of your suggestions into consideration to improve the design.
