Fragment of the bathing Aphrodite

myminifactory

The goddess Aphrodite takes a moment to relax, caught in the act of bathing; her left arm stretches out over her abdomen and her right hand lightly brushes against her left shoulder. This exquisite statue is a Roman masterpiece, skillfully crafted from a Greek original perhaps forged in bronze by the renowned sculptor Doidalsas of Bithynia around the mid-3rd Century BC. Among numerous copies of this type, it stands out as the most artistically impressive one. Hailing from the Hadrianic period, which spanned AD 117 to 138.
