Fragment of a stele with an honorary decree

myminifactory

The ancient stele was discovered near the temple of Hephaestus in Athens' historic Agora. The original relief remains intact, showcasing a fragment of the initial line from the official decree. On one side, Amphiaraos is depicted alongside the honor recipient, Artikleides. In the center, Artikleides stands before an altar as Hygieia places a crown upon his head. Their names are etched into the stone lintel above. The decree itself bestowed special privileges on Artikleides in recognition of his contributions to Amphiaraos' cult.
