Fragment of a stele-door
thingiverse
Human: Fragment of a stele-door from the middle of the 3rd century AD found in Acmonia, Phrygia, resting on its western flank, carved into marble and housed at the Musée d'Art et d'Histoire in Brussels, Belgium. A left-hand side view reveals the remnants of a door frame adorned with three crowns. The crowns' presence is justified by an inscription found not only on this fragment but also on another stele known through a copy that surfaced in 1933. This individual's career trajectory began with government records and treasury before advancing to agoranome and strategist, as indicated by the Brussels fragment. Ultimately, the gerontia, or council of elders, bestowed upon him a crown for constructing the public weighing scale adjacent to the market he once oversaw, which was later accompanied by a weights and measures bureau.
