Fragment of a 'stars and crowns' sarcophagus

This is an isolated fragment from the front of a sarcophagus belonging to the "stars and crowns" style. Four apostles stand with a scroll grasped firmly in their left hand, a star emblazoned behind each head, and a crown descending above as God's hand extends it towards them. Meanwhile, they raise their right hands in acclaim towards the missing central element, the "Anástasis." Unfortunately, its origins remain unknown, but it eventually found its way into the Vatican storage facilities.
